Disqus (Updated)

Good Evening (or should I say night?)! After fighting with my template and Disqus I think I finally figured it out (or maybe I haven't?). Shew! I'm ready for a nap now!

(Update)

I'll try to do a little how-to.  The instructions weren't so clear for me and my instructions probably aren't too clear either.  I'm not too bright.  You wouldn't believe I used to be an internet service provider tech, build computers and made webpages from scratch.  Over the years I have lost my knowledge.

So I got an account with Disqus a month or so ago for commenting over at MckMama's blog.  Tonight I got brave enough to try adding it to my blog.  With lots of googling, emailing and googling some more I think I may have finally figured it out but I'm not so sure.

After you have registered and set up your Disqus account with your site name and such put your mouse over your blog name and you will get a drop down box.  Click on install Instructions.  Choose your install instructions (Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, etc.). Of course, I chose blogger.  Make sure you follow the instructions. Unless you are like me and don't understand instructions then click around until you get it right like I did.  Just kidding!   From your Blogger Dashboard, navigate to Layout > Edit html, select Download Full Template and save to your computer.  Then you will upload the file you just downloaded so that it can be patched with the Disqus Template.  Choose either to use Disqus on only future posts or use Disquis on all comments (including past comments).  Click upload and continue.  At this point I have two windows open (Disqus and Bloggers Edit Html).  I deleted all of Blogger's Html and pasted the new Disqus html in the box and clicked on expand widget templates.  I went back to the Disqus page and clicked on Tools and then Import/Export (it may take a while to Import all past comments).  I imported all comments from my Blogger.  Make a new post and see if your new comment system shows up.  If it doesn't then do a google search or email someone smarter than me for help because I'm not the brightest crayon in the box.  You can ask me and I will do my best to help but I'm not promising anything because the elevator doesn't go all the way up to the top floor, if you know what I mean.  Read here.  Maybe this site is easier to understand?  Or this one? Seriously.. I stink at how-to's.  Sorry!
