National Young Leaders Conference

My 16 year old son was invited to the National Young Leaders Conference this Spring because of his Academic Achievement and Leadership Ability. I am so very proud of him!! He is a National Scholar and will be distinguishes as one of the most promising young leaders of tomorrow and will join others from across the nation for this unique learning experience. He will meet with high-ranking government officials, members of Congress, national media figures and other distinguished scholars. Have I mentioned I am so very proud of him?

He will be flying to Washington, DC. I may be a bit overprotective but the thought of my son on a plane makes my stomach ache. The thought of my son being so far away from me makes my stomach ache. The thought of my oldest son being 16 makes my stomach ache. The thought of my oldest son being nearly a man makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and cry because he is nearly a man. *sigh* Have I mentioned.. I am so proud of him!
